What you need to know
- Files uploaded or created in Document Libraries that are enabled with Seclore's automatic protection will get protected automatically.
- Note that only Site Owners can enable or disable automatic protection.
- Files that are already Seclore-protected can also be uploaded to SharePoint Online. Such files would retain their original permissions and remain unaffected by SharePoint Online permissions. Already protected files can be opened from SharePoint Online like any other protected file, either online or on desktop.
- In this section, we'll see how to enable automatic protection in SharePoint Online.

Step by step
*Note that the 'Seclore it' option is visible to site owners only.
The site owner who turns on Automatic Protection will become the owner of all files automatically protected with Seclore. To have a different owner for new files that are to be uploaded, the new site owner needs to turn off Automatic Protection and turn it back on. All files protected after this action will have the new owner.
